Ramen Seirock-ya @ Damansara Uptown

"I eat soup noodles for comfort. In fact, noodles of any kind. It's a food that is very easy to eat; it's very soothing and comfortable, too. If I could choose any, I'd say buckwheat was my favourite; it has a very good flavour and is healthy, too."- Nobu Matsuhisa

Ramen has always been a great fascination to fellow foodies as now they are ever evolving and has a vast creations of different soup base from the pork bone soup base that are well known for across the world to a recent inclusion of chicken soup base to include those that are getting more conscious about their well being and also for our fellow foodies that aren't inclined to having pork in their diet..

So the Uptown finally has a halal and healthy kind of ramen to offer it's visitors and that is Ramen Seirock-ya
This is the latest outlet from this chain which has 24 branches in Japan which is non-halal and 6 branches in Indonesia and Malaysia which is halal certified!
This is the 2nd ramen shop which we encounter that uses chicken based for their soup that also has a rich texture that is known as Toripaitan style..

What is Toripaitan ?

Well according to Seirock-ya, Toripaitan soup is made using large amounts of chicken being boiled for a long period of time.. This soup based style is very popular amongst the ladies of Japan because it is believed that this soup based has a lot of collagen that is beneficial for the skin and overall well being..

The first ramen that grace their presence is the Toripaitan Extreme Egg which is one of the recommended ramen soup base from their menu!
This is actually their signature dish that consists of chicken broth, vegetables and seafoods that gives this broth a very rich and thick texture that in their recommendation is best enjoyed with a thick texture noodles and a wedge of lemon for you to be squeezed on the broth before you begin to slurp it's goodness!
Toripaitan Extreme Egg (RM19.90)
You can add more toppings to your ramen as much as you desire them to be!
But we had additional egg into the broth!
In terms of appearance, the broth have a beautiful shine to it and the colour was really vibrant and has that amber hue to it!
The portion is relatively generous and perfect for 1 person without making you feel too overwhelmed by it.. The chicken was cooked to perfection as the meat was succulent and has absorbed the goodness and flavour from the umami broth..
The broth was truly flavourful and extreme in a good way and the lemon juice was really helpful to bring another layer of acidity to the very rich and umami flavoured broth which has layers of complexity to it.. All the flavours in that broth is really harmonious and the noodles was well made and it absorbs all the goodness of this toripaitan broth very well..
Toripaitan Shio Egg (RM17.40)
The 2nd ramen that we ordered to try is the more reserved Toripaitan Shio Egg..
Shio which is salt in Japanese is a flavour that best compliments and enhances  the rich and umami dominant flavour of the Toripaitan broth..
This broth has a milkier appearance to it and it's also a rich broth but not extremely packed with flavour or as rich as the one made with pork bones.. For this ramen, it is recommended that you have it with a thin noodle as the shio broth is much more milder in flavour and it wasn't extremely rich or thick so that type of noodle is perfect.. The chicken breast was really nice and juicy and it wasn't overly salty and the broth has an amazing balance of flavour and texture to make you able to finish the noodles and the broth without feeling guilty about it! The egg was nicely done but sadly the yolk wasn't exactly runny

Gyoza
Finally, we turn our attention to the Gyoza which is meat dumpling that was fried.. It is similar to the chinese style of dumplings..
The dumplings was nicely portioned and not too big..
It wasn't too oily but it was slightly cold when it arrives to our table..
The gyoza was actually well made with a flavourful and juicy meat filling on the inside..
The dumpling skin was nicely made with right amount of thickness that covers the meat like a second skin..

Verdict:
Overall the food was great and refreshing with friendly service..
There are other types of soup based available!
