Aftermeal @ Damansara Uptown

Boba craze is truly has blown out of proportions in the heart of Kuala Lumpur!
You can now see more and more Boba or Bubble Tea related eateries be it dessert or drinks mushrooming daily and constantly the pictures of it flooded the entire social media feed!

Damansara Uptown has always been a foodie heaven for majority of the people no matter what sort of cuisine whether it's savoury or sweet or even drink places; there is always something to satiate the hunger pangs or cravings of any foodie!
There is a new dessert parlour popped up and from the looks of it; it attracts alot of people like how cubes or sugar attracts the ants or a beautiful flower entices the bumblee bees to collect it's nectar!

The queue is a never ending thing and the cafe would always be filled with joyful music of laughter and joy from eating their delicious and homemade desserts!

The first thing that would greet you is their colourful and vibrant menu complete with an eye catching pcitures that just makes your mouth water!
They have also updated their menu with the inclusion of the hot dessert options if you would like to find some warmth from a bowl of tang yuan in ginger broth..
It was truly a difficult thing to decide when it comes to just limiting yourself to one dessert but in the end we just gave up on limiting ourselves and go wild with ordering!

So these are the desserts we ordered and were recommended for us by the friendly staff!
The wait wasn't too long considering that the place is constantly flooded with happy people and never ending laughter from the customers that are enjoying ever mouthful of their desserts and their well made drinks!
The first dessert finally grace us their presence is the Fresh Milk Ice Cream with Taro Mochi & Grass Jelly dessert!

Fresh Milk Ice Cream with Taro Mochi & Grass Jelly (RM23)
This is actually one of the crowd favourite desserts option to choose from!
Considering that they have several different options to select and all do sound delicious but getting a recommendation from their friendly people is always the wise move to make if you are a first timer in their humble home of sweet treats!

The wait wasn't too long considering that it was consistently filled with people every passing second! So do be patient when it comes to getting an empty table to enjoy those delicious morsels..
Their shaved ice layer was really finely shaved, it wasn't too overwhelmingly cold that deter you from enjoying it further and it wasn't too sweet either..
The fresh milk ice cream is really soft and silky in texture that goes well with the bitterness and grassy notes of the grass jelly and the chewy yet nutty texture of the homemade red bean but those texture from that bowl is well contrasted with the smaller bowl that consist of their homemade taro mochi and that beautiful yet shiny pearls! The sweetness complemented the grassiness really well alongside the creamy and silky milk ice cream..
It has an amazing balance of flavours between the grassy notes against the sweetness of the sugar syrup with the chewiness of the pearl jelly and the creaminess of the ice cream..

Iron Lady Grass Jelly Milk Tea (RM 10)
We had one of their drinks to refresh our palates in preparation for the next few wonderful desserts!
The drink I had was the Iron Lady Grass Jelly Milk Tea! Initially I was rather skeptical on this drink as I had a rather unpleasant drinking experience with the other Milk tea brewing places which was covered with a thick layer of sugar, milk and ice rather than the tea itself..
However, for this Iron Lady Milk Tea from the After Meal was just out of this world!

Iron Lady Tea Kakigori (RM20)
After a refreshing milk tea, we ventured into the next dessert which is the Iron Lady Tea Kakigori!
This is one of the most popular desserts and featured in so many of the Instagram or Facebook postings..
It doesn't really make you wait for ages for this beauty to savour its taste and in awe with it's simplistic magnificence!
In terms of the presentation, it was really simple but somethings are meant to be simple as you will know that the everlasting impact would be in the taste of the kakigori!
We swiftly document this magnificent Mt Fuji inspired dessert in our phones so that we can continue to awe it's magnificence and the experience in the near future or to make our fellow friends envious of this Mt Fuji!
Then we immediately took our spoons and begin to devour the smooth and silky texture of the shaved ice which resembles a whole lot like those snowflakes.. The portion of this Kakigori is really generous and it was served with a side of homemade Taro balls and boba in a sugar syrup..
The colour do shows that it was being steeped quite long to extract it's intensity of flavour and colour!
From the first mouthful, we were truly found out why it was becoming the must try dessert when you are visiting this place!
The shaved ice has literally achieved the soft, smooth and velvety texture of a snowflake and they managed to reach the epitome equilibrium of taste without the elements of this dessert fighting for your attention..
There were even more surprises for you at the end of the bowl so remember to continue the exploration till you can see the end of the bowl as you will be rewarded with plenty of goodies like the home made brown sugar pearl goodies and the grass jelly that just balances out the smokiness of the tea!
The toasted slices of almond has brought another dimension to the dessert that pairs beautifully with the sweet sugar syrup alongside the smokiness of the tea and the fluffy and soft texture of the shaved ice!

Refreshing Calamansi Yokan (RM16)
The third dessert that we are trying out from their Top 3 desserts is their brightly coloured Refreshing Calamansi Yokan

This is one of the 3 desserts that was from their earliest menu but it has proved to be one of their fan favourites other than the Iron Lady Kakigori.. It doesn't take very long for us to enjoy and truly find out what is this luminous beauty is about!

This dazzling bowl of calamansi is really photogenic to be on Instagram and the portion for this beauty is great for 1 person if you are a sweet tooth but it can be shared with friends.. This bowl has a based of calamansi kakigori that has a very fine shaved texture of ice that has a second skin like coating of calamansi juice and inside it have a suprise chewy and crunchy texture from the sea coconut which is a nice surprise and it goes well with the snow like calamasi kakigori..

Then it was topped of with a layer of the calamansi yokan that has a japanese jelly which has similar thick texture and elasticity of the Konnyaku jelly which is fantastic chew! Finally it was crowned with a beautiful rounds of fresh and sweet longan together with white pearls!
In terms of taste, the kakigori was beautifully made with the strong yet zesty calamansi juice..
It was really a great refreshing hit for a hot day and it went well with the thick and chewy texture of the calamansi yokan and together with the sweet pearls of longan..
It truly is a harmonious symphony of balance, taste and texture from the calamansi kakigori, the yokan and the longan that just like a perfect orchestra of taste!
You gotta try it out!
