Lisette's cafe & Bakery @ Bangsar

An afternoon filled with a breezy, calming atmosphere with some exciting music buzzing through while you watch the food being prepared just right in front of your eyes!
That sounds like an amazing place to be at as the menu has evolved tremendously..

Previously Lisette was known as Drinc cafe with a simplified menu and a very humid atmosphere but thankfully that they have decided to up their game and refresh the cafe with a new and more comfortable cafe alongside great food!

They have two seating options available either the alfresco seating to enjoy that iced cold beer or a chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc on the patio or you can opt for the more cooler and comfortable indoor seating! They also just recently done their upstairs renovation and it's looking really cosy and comfortable.. Not to forget that there is a corner which is great for Instagram post!

Colours and creativity are flowing everywhere that just radiates the room and the vibe!

Beautiful display of baked pastry and pies that is really tempting for every sweet tooth!

The first dish that we ordered is the Tricolore salad that is under the salad section of the menu..
It is one of the salad that is perfect for the vegetarian or to munch on during a hot summers day!

Tricolore Salad
This salad has one of the most simple presentation I have ever witnessed and it does reflect on the name of the dish which is 3 colour salad..
This salad consists of slices of avocado, tomatoes and burrata that is dressed with dashes of basil pesto and a couple of fresh basil leaves!
You can rest assure that this salad isn't one of those plain and boring kind as the varying textures and flavours has elevate this simplistic looking salad into something that is truly enjoyable! The creaminess of the avocado is a great accompaniment to the acidic tomato slices against the buttery and solid burrata that was sprinkled with dashes of herby basil pesto!

The 2nd dish that we tried is their Grilled Med Veg, Avocado & Quinoa which is under the salad section of the menu..
This is one of the most healthy salads and it is perfect for anyone that want to go meatless for that day or meal period!

Grilled Med Veg, Avocado & Quinoa with Smoked Salmon
If you are into the latest diet trend which is known as Keto diet that emphasizes on incorporating high fat ingredients into your daily food intake and lowering the carbohydrate intake, this salad is just the perfect plate for you!
This salad is made with grilled Mediterranean vegetables that brings out the charred flavours and sweet natural notes that is dressed with a light and refreshing basil dressing and sprinkled with toasted pine nuts for added crunch.. You can opt for additional toppings of smoked salmon or grilled chicken breast..
Well I opted for the smoked salmon in the mediterranean salad and I can tell you that it's a filling salad with varying types of grilled vegetables that brings out their earthy, smoked and sweet notes against the bitter green leafs at the base of the salad and the dressing brought balance to this harmonious dish!

Toasties (RM22)
The 3rd dish that we tried and it is perfect for a tea time snack if you are leaning towards the famish side but aren't ready for dinner yet kind of tea time.. In their menu, there is an option made available for those that are constantly in the hunt to munch and that is Toasties
They have several versions to satisfy every sort of eater and you can even choose the type of bread to be part of your toasties experience either white poppy seed or brown wholemeal..

We opted for the Turkey ham, tomato and gruyere cheese in a brown wholemeal toast!
It make take awhile to wait for you toasties but it is worth the wait as the toasties is made by order..
When it arrived to the table, it exudes a very warm and toasty feeling with that ideal heat and it was halve for your dining pleasure!
You can see that layers of oozing melted cheese being sandwiched above the thin sliced of turkey ham and tomatoes!
The combination is just superb! The bread wasn't very soggy and it just have the perfect balance of charred taste and the crispy texture that acts as the cushion for that melted cheese!

The final savoury dish that we had was the Parmigiana Burrata!
I think the chef truly loves this ingredient alot which is so evident throughout the whole entire menu; don't get me wrong but I do agree that this cheese product of Burrata is just a god send! As this Burrata is the most versatile ingredient ever!
It's a great thing to have it either alone or like how they play it out paired it with some salad or in sandwiches or like this dish we are about to try which is baked in their vegetarian interpretation of the lasagna!

Parmigiana Burrata (RM30)
When we saw this dish on their menu, we immediately ordered it as it is quite interesting being that it is a vegetarian interpretation that may deter some carnivorous at heart to not give this dish a chance..
It doesn't take extremely long for us to find out how it would look or taste like as at most you may need to be patient with the kitchen to make this lovely dish at most 20-25 minutes but it is so worth it!

Parmigiana Burrata consists layers of aubergine lasagna and creamy ricotta cheese, tangy tomato sauce and herbaceous basil that is finished with a generous helping of the burrata and parmesan gratin!
In terms of apperance, it may seem very brown and unphotogenic but the taste of this vegan combination would certainly turn heads around as the exterior has that crispy and charred notes that you would get from the meat based lasagna but once you dig inside the layers of the aubergine you will get that soft yet sturdy layers of sweet aubergines that is sandwiched with soft and creamy ricotta cheese that brought tangy acidity other than the tomato sauce and also some salinity that is great to go with the aubergine that acts like the blank canvas! The rich and creamy burrata was truly the one element that finish off the entire dish by bringing layers of complexity, textures and taste to this vegan dish!
Strawberry Tart
The dessert was one of their star attractions other than the famous Tuesday vegetarian lunch  & Sunday buffet brunch!

Their dessert counter is actually the first to greet everyone whenever they enter the cafe..
With a colorful and eye catching display that surely pleases any sweet tooth that visits the cafe!
After much careful selection, we had the Strawberry tart and the Cherry Clafoutis

First up, Strawberry tart
Well it may just sound ordinary but this cutie is really packed full of juicy flavours and that curd gives a perfect tangy end to your meal! The tart is really short and creamy that pairs well with the sweet and tangy curd and finally those juicy and perfectly glazed strawberry slices!

Cherry Clafoutis
Second dessert that caught our hearts and attention is the Cherry Clafoutis!
Clafoutis is basically a baked french dessert of fruit arranged in a buttered dish covered in a thick flan like pan..
When we noticed on their dessert counter that they have cherry clafoutis, we jumped on that chance to sample it to complete our meal with a sweet ending!
The clafoutis wasn't extremely sweet and it has a perfect balance between the sweetness of the curd and the tartness of the cherries and the dough that covering the flan is really buttery and rich to go with that tangy and sweet cherry!

Verdict:
