S'mores @ Bangsar South & Dip n Dip, Jalan Telawi @ Bangsar
Hey Hey!!
With the finals came to an end and the last day was on my birthday which was last thursday.. So after the exam, I had a celebratory lunch in S'mores, Bangsar South and dessert in Dip n Dip..
Was quite stressful 2 weeks due to the finals and was having some sleepless nights..
N brought me over to S'mores at Bangsar South for my birthday lunch and it was a new place and it had several office building behind it.. When we reached there, it was still lunch time so was quite crowded but we managed to get vacant table and the server there was fast and efficient in taking the order and the drinks came quite fast.. The menu in this restaurant is quite limited but their restaurant have walls covered with pictures and also large chalkboard about the promotions that they offer from tapas, drinks, platter and also their lunch menu.. The day we went in was a thursday so their set lunch offer was the Australian grain-fed strip loin with soup and drinks which was quite affordable with the price that they charged at RM28 ++ and many other set lunch ranges from pasta and also chicken and some lamb..
For the food, I have ordered a grain-fed strip loin steak with soup and drinks and for N, he had a slices of leg of lamb with drinks and soup.. It was both set lunch meal and the priced was quite affordable.. So I had my strip loin medium rare and it was so juicy and delicious and so tender.. The meal presentation for my lunch looks mediocre but the taste proves otherwise and so surprisingly delicious.. It was just a quite think slice of steak accompanied with some baked potatoes and sauce that was quite sourish in taste but too bad it didn't have much of the meaty taste.. Nonetheless, I was happy about the method of how the meat is beautifully cooked and it really turns out to be awesomely delicious.. Was practically smiling and having food happiness while eating that lunch meal..
Whereas N had his slices of lamb leg meat with some mash potatoes and was accompanied with the sauce that is really compliments the meat that has a hint of peppery note to it.. The dish looks quite nice and the lamb was cooked nicely..
The service in this restaurant was reasonable..
After the wonderful lunch, we head to Telawi street for some chocolaty desserts and we head to Dip n Dip..
I love Dip n Dip as this place showers me with love of chocolate and it is also a chocolate heaven for chocolate fanatics like myself.. So for that visit, we thought of trying the other chocolate desserts offered in this restaurant and it took quite awhile for me to decide as everything looks so pretty and delicious..
Finally, I had ordered the fondant with Vanilla ice cream but initially I ordered for trois chocolat mousse but it wasn't available, felt a little disappointed.. For N, he had ordered the chocolate waffle..
I have noticed some addition to their menu which is good and they have added a new sections like baked goods, stuff in a cup, dip sticks, famous names, chocolate shots etc.. So you gotta try it!!!
The drinks we ordered was the moccacchino for N and for myself is sweet belgian hot chocolate..
The moment the dessert arrived to our table, his chocolate waffle stick looks simple and full of chocolate.. The waffle is really soft and light and also spongy and the chocolate tasted so good and great compliment to this waffle.. The portion is just right for a light snack and it wasn't too heavy.. Delicious..
Then came my fondant, the presentation looks decent but was alittle disappointed as the cake wasn't full of chocolate taste but the amazing part was the moment it was cut open, all the chocolate sauce was oozing out and it looks amazing and yummy with the vanilla ice cream..
Whereas for the drinks, N had the moccacchino was made with espresso, milk and chocolate and the drink was fairly nice.. Nothing much to be rave about as the drink wasn't memorable.. For my drink which was a sweet belgian hot chocolate, the drink was surprisingly delicious and it wasn't extremely sweet.. The chocolate flavour was just right not too overpowering.. Love it so much hehe..
Verdict: overall my celebratory lunch and dessert were awesome and wonderful..
Love the chocolate drink but not loving the dessert i've ordered..
